Source record CSV checker
A downloadable tool
Source record CSV checker
Check a device and software research table for missing source URLs, malformed read dates, and repeated device/software pairs. This small Python utility runs locally without network requests.
Use
Download and unpack the ZIP. Save a UTF-8 CSV with the columns device,software,source_url,read_date, then run:
python3 check_records.py records.csv
Use Python 3.10 or later. The JSON report gives each flagged record number and the fields to review. Exit status is zero for no flagged records, one for flagged records, and two for a file or header error.
Limits
The checker flags empty fields and malformed URL/date formats. Read each source yourself to judge its accuracy and applicability. The program does not fetch URLs or determine whether a device works with software. A future read date passes the format check.
GolfCompat publishes golf simulator compatibility records with sources. This utility helps keep a source URL and read date beside each research row.
